Sweet Orange

Mmmm... the comforting scent of orange. Citrusy, Uplifting, Warming. I love Orange and several people have either requested it lately or asked about the effects of it so, here goes on a little overview of Orange Essential Oil. ...

Orange is emotionally uplifting and warming. It's refreshing and energizing qualities are especially beneficial when used on the body. With natural properties that cleanse and rejuvenate the complexion, orange revives dull skin. Orange blends well with most oils. The best to blend Sweet Orange with are: Lemon, Lavender, Grapefruit, Lime, Neroli, Clary Sage, Patchouli, Ylang Ylang, Dalmatian Sage and Sandalwood.
My favorite blend with orange is Citrus and Sage. Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, Lime and Dalmatian Sage. Mmmm - I'll take a soak in that anyday!

Be cautious though when using any citrus oil on your skin and then going out into the sun. You should avoid exposure to the sun for @ 6 hours due to the oil being phototoxic. Your skin may have a reaction and become very red and irritated.

Cheers! have a lovely uplifting day,
Amy

Aroma Therapy Pillows - GIVEAWAY!

I made some lovely little Aromatherapy Pillows last night. Most people wanted Lavender - Not a real surprise, it does smell wonderful! We had a small variety of oils available. Lavender, Rose, Frankincense, Vanilla, Eucalyptus, Orange Blossom (Neroli), Sweet Orange, Lemon and Peppermint. My favorite blends out of these are: Lavender and Peppermint, Sweet Orange and Vanilla, Neroli and Rose, Frankincense, Vanilla and Lavender and Eucalyptus and Lemon. You start by unrolling a cotton ball dropping @ 20-25 drops of each essential oil on the cottonball and rolling it up and putting it in a sheer sachet bag that you find in the wedding aisle at Wal Mart. Add a few more cottonballs in the bag for filler and tie. Place the relaxing blends under the top layer of your pillowcase or place in your desk drawer. If you prefer an uplifting scent hang the sachet in your car. Enjoy! I'm giving away 5 sachets with the scent of your choice so, write your name, mailing info and chosen scent in the comments section of this post before next Friday, February 20th and I'll mail you a sachet.

What Fun at Girl's Night Out!

Here's my friend Laura in the wonderfulness of her store. There is always something new and lovely to look at. She has such a wonderful eye for fabulous things!

Here's me and my girl making Aromatherapy sachets for Laura's special event. All the ladies loved cooing with my little angel. She was our good luck charm too. Every 15 minutes or so a bell would ring and everyone would run to find a paper heart w/ a number on it on the floor and if your number was called you won a prize. Well, Savvy and I won and Savvy and Grammy won. Like I said, good luck charm! That's my girl!

That little room behind us is where we used to have all of our goodies after we closed the big store. Laura was gracious enough to offer part of her store so that we wouldn't have to close down completely. We had so much fun while we were in there. but, after I had Savvy it was time to move out. The friendships that I made were priceless and I cherish them and feel so blessed to still be included in these fun events.
